VIDEO: Survivor Recounts Harrowing Attack as Armed Fulani Bandits Strike Enugu Farm Settlement Again

A fresh wave of violence swept through Ehamufu in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State on Sunday, November 16, 2025, after armed men invaded rural farm settlements, attacking residents and leaving several injured.

A woman featured in a video recorded shortly after the incident recounted how she narrowly escaped death when the attackers descended on farmers working deep inside the settlement. Covered in visible wounds and visibly shaken, she explained that the armed men ambushed her while she worked, inflicting multiple injuries before she managed to flee through footpaths into nearby bushes.

Residents say the latest assault is part of a disturbing pattern of recurring attacks that have plagued Ehamufu and surrounding communities for years. Local sources recall that more than a dozen communities in the area have previously been displaced, with hundreds of civilians reportedly killed in repeated raids. Homes, churches, schools and farmlands have also been destroyed in earlier incidents, forcing many families to abandon their livelihoods.

Community leaders indicate that these incursions have intensified in recent months, leaving farmers increasingly afraid to enter the fields that sustain their survival. Many residents now fear that the renewed offensive signals an escalation that could worsen displacement and deepen the region’s humanitarian challenges.

Eyewitness accounts described Sunday’s attack as swift and coordinated, targeting isolated farm clusters where victims had little warning or protection. Survivors and youth groups in Ehamufu are urging state authorities to deploy stronger security measures and restore confidence for residents who rely on farming as their primary source of income.

The Enugu State Government is yet to release an official statement regarding Sunday’s assault, but locals insist that without immediate intervention, the cycle of violence may continue unchecked.
