Welcome To Glint News.....
In a brazen display of violence, gunmen terrorizing Anambra State launched a vicious attack on a team of the Anambra State Vigilante Group (AVG) on Sunday, leaving one member injured and their operational vehicle in ashes.
The incident, which occurred along Amesi/Uga Road in Aguata Local Government Area, has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with many calling for increased security measures to protect citizens from the rampant violence.
According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, the attack happened at around 2:30 pm on Sunday. Ikenga confirmed that one member of the vigilante team was injured during the attack, while the operational vehicle was set ablaze .
The swift response of the Fire Service Operatives helped bring the situation under control, preventing further damage to properties and goods of individuals. The police command has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire incident to avert future occurrences.
This latest attack is part of a larger pattern of violence that has plagued Anambra State in recent months. The gunmen, who are believed to be enforcing a Monday sit-at-home order, have been responsible for a string of attacks on innocent civilians, including vigilante groups and security personnel.
The Anambra State Government has condemned the attack, calling on security agencies to intensify their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
As the people of Anambra State struggle to come to terms with the latest attack, many are left wondering what the future holds for the embattled region. One thing is certain, however: the Nigerian government must take immediate action to address the growing insecurity in Anambra State and ensure that citizens are protected from the rampant violence.
