PDP Kicks Off Ondo Governorship Election Campaign, Aims to Restore Good Governance

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to officially flag off its campaign for the November 16, 2024 Ondo State Governorship Election. Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Umar Damagum, invites all stakeholders, including former presidents, governors, and party leaders, to join forces and ensure the victory of the party's governorship candidate, Alfred Agboola Ajayi, and his deputy, Festus Olarewaju Akingbaso.

Ajayi, a former deputy governor, emerged as the PDP's governorship candidate after winning the party's primary election with 264 votes out of 621 cast. With his grassroots experience and competency, the party is confident that he will drive growth and progress in the state.

The campaign flag-off is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 10 am, with the venue to be announced. This event marks the beginning of the PDP's push to restore good governance, economic prosperity, and development in Ondo State.

According to Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi, Manga, Acting National Publicity Secretary, "all former presidents and vice presidents who are still members of the PDP, members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), serving and former members of the Board of Trustees (BoT), serving and former PDP governors, former leaders and members of the PDP National Assembly Caucus, and other critical stakeholders are invited to join forces and ensure the victory of the party's governorship candidate."

During a recent visit to the Ile-Oluji West Traditional Council, Hon. Ch. Henry Akinsuroju emphasized the party's commitment to making life better for the masses, stating that "nearness to the people is nearness to development." The PDP has been engaging with traditional rulers and local communities, outlining its vision for a better Ondo State.

The party's focus is on improving the lives of citizens, promoting economic growth, and ensuring that the state reaches its full potential. All supporters and well-wishers are invited to join the campaign flag-off and rally behind Ajayi and Akingbaso.
