Terror Strikes Sokoto: Bride, Bridesmaids Abducted During Wedding Ceremony

A horrific incident unfolded in Sokoto State's Sabon Birni Local Government Area on Saturday, as suspected terrorists abducted a newlywed bride and four bridesmaids during a wedding ceremony at Kwaren Gamba, near Kuka Teke. The village has suffered repeated attacks from armed groups linked to notorious bandit leader Bello Turji.

Eyewitnesses described the chaotic scene as gunmen stormed the area, taking the victims and leaving residents in a state of panic. A security source confirmed the community remains in shock, with families of the abductees devastated.

This incident follows a gruesome attack on Dantudu Lajinge village in the same local government area, where terrorists slaughtered nine members of the community's vigilante group, abducting their wives. Residents recounted the brutality, saying the victims were shot or slit in the throat.

The attacks underscore the growing insecurity in the region, leaving locals despairing. "The situation is unbearable, and our people are losing hope," said a local elder.
